A Growing Partnership Focused on Sustainable Development
"Hot Screen is a company that wants to invent things!"
Swedol has been a customer of Hot Screen since 1998. Our collaboration has deepened over the years – not least following the merger with Grolls and later also Tools, which led to the formation of Alligo.
In 2020, Sara Nygren Jönsson became Product Development Manager at Alligo, and she sees even closer collaboration with us going forward.
Sharing the same view on sustainability and reuse
Alligo brings together Swedol, Grolls, Tools and Univern under one umbrella and is a leading player in the Nordic market for workwear, personal protection, tools and supplies.
Their approach to sustainability and garment reuse aligns closely with ours – integrating sustainability into every part of the business to stay ahead and be the best possible partner.
”We have really accelerated our sustainability efforts,” says Sara Nygren Jönsson. ”And Hot Screen keeps pace. I have, among other things, visited you to discuss how we can improve system efficiency – and it’s exciting. Hot Screen is a company that wants to invent things!”
One area Sara highlights is the ability to upload garments from their own assortment into our system. This makes it easier for their customers to consistently place logos exactly where they want them.
It also helps identify limitations in advance – for example, when seams affect print placement – while making information about each garment and application clearer for staff.
”It’s important that everything looks consistent, regardless of who does the work,” Sara says. ”That way, you avoid variation and make it easier for new employees to learn quickly.”
Protecting customers’ everyday work – every day
Alligo’s head office is located in Stockholm, while the Product Development Clothing department is based in Gothenburg.
For Sara, the role marked a shift into a completely new industry, following her background in fashion at MQ.
”I loved fashion,” she says. ”But I reached a point where it no longer felt meaningful – why fashion? Workwear is something different.
These garments need to last and at the same time protect people’s lives. Fit, ergonomics and durability – it’s value-driven, and that’s something I truly stand behind.”
Sara leads a team of four product developers and two pattern designers – a strong combination of experience and expertise that complement each other.
For both the team and Alligo, it’s important to make decisions that create real impact rather than optimizing isolated details. Sustainability remains a constant focus.
Here, Sara also sees strong potential to further develop the collaboration with Hot Screen – particularly within circular solutions, such as reprinting garments to extend their lifecycle.
”This is a key and highly relevant topic for us,” Sara says. ”How can we help our customers circulate garments within their own organizations? That’s where I believe we can move forward together.”
