Collaboration with Blåkläder – quality, relationships and long-term partnership
"It feels open and harmonious when you step inside the doors at Hot Screen"
Blåkläder and Hot Screen began their collaboration nearly 30 years ago. Today, close to 100 orders are sent from us every day to various recipients within the group – around half of them to their VAS department in Svenljunga.
Andreas Pettersson works there as a supervisor, ensuring that more than 35 of our Hot 4000 heat presses run continuously from early morning to late evening.
Building relationships beyond “us and them”
Blåkläder was founded in the late 1950s and is now present worldwide, with operations in countries such as Germany, the USA and Japan. Their classic work trousers are easily recognisable, as is their blue-and-yellow logo.
The head office remains in Svenljunga, where everything once started, and the facilities are continuously expanding – Blåkläder is growing. Despite this, the same warm and family-oriented culture remains, closely reflecting the culture at Hot Screen.
– It feels open and harmonious when you step inside the doors at Hot Screen, says Andreas Pettersson. You take care of your people and actively try to eliminate the “us and them” mindset. That’s how we work too – everyone here is equally valued, whether you’re a CEO or part of the cleaning staff.
Andreas is in daily contact with his team and focuses on building strong relationships. At the same time, he keeps a close eye on the daily order flow to ensure everything runs smoothly – and it does.
In Hot Screen’s order system, Blåkläder is the only customer with two fixed tables instead of boxes. Their order volumes are so high that this provides the best possible overview. We also wait for the final order from Blåkläder each day before packing, to optimise deliveries.
– What impresses me the most is how well-organised everything is, Andreas says. It makes the work more enjoyable and gives you confidence as a customer – you can immediately tell things are under control. Not even a drop of paint on the floor!

Manual work – a key part of quality
Just like at Hot Screen, a significant part of the work at Blåkläder is done manually – something that often surprises visitors. But this is also what strengthens the brand: the craftsmanship and the people behind each product.
It’s all about finding the right balance between efficiency and quality.
– If we can shorten lead times, that’s a clear benefit for our customers, says Andreas. At the same time, this is skilled work – it takes time for new employees to become fully independent.
At the VAS department, more than 50 employees print Blåkläder’s garments before they are shipped worldwide. At each Hot 4000 heat press, stacks of boxes marked with the Blåkläder logo are ready for processing.
This results in high daily volumes of heat transfers and close contact with our sales support team. Andreas highlights both the high delivery precision and the consistent quality of our products.
– I speak for everyone working with your transfers when I say the quality is high and the service is excellent. We often receive quick responses – always friendly and professional.
And when asked the classic question:
– The collaboration works very well. I would highly recommend Hot Screen to others.
